This new year, make your fitness goals a reality! Participate in *3* eligible physical activity sessions for your chance to win exciting prizes:

Full Instructions:

  1. Participate in 3 eligible* virtual physical activity sessions anytime between January 31 – February 25, 2022. All fitness levels are welcome!
    • Note: some sessions, such as those offered by the RAWC, require pre-registration – see further information below.
    • At the beginning of each virtual session, please identify your full name in the chat and indicate that you are participating in the #MoveUNewU Challenge. This information will be used to record and verify your participation. 
    • Please note, only UTM students are eligible to participate in this contest.
  2. Once you have completed all 3 activities, fill out the #MoveUNewU Virtual Passport.
  3. Completed passports will be entered into a randomized draw for the following three (3) prizes: Fitbit Inspire 2 Fitness Tracker, Beats Flex All-Day Wireless Earphones, and a $25 Sportchek E-Gift Card. Three (3) winners will be selected in March 2022, after verification of participation. Winners will be subsequently provided with information regarding next steps on how to claim their prize.

Bonus Entry:

*BONUS ENTRY*: If you wish to have your name entered a second time into the prize draw for any of the three (3) prizes (so that you have a higher chance of winning) you must first participate in 3 eligible virtual physical activity sessions anytime between January 31 – February 25, 2022. Next, you must record a short video and post it on your Instagram as an IG Story. The video must include the following: 

  1. Your answer to the following questions: What does physical activity/working out look like/mean to you? How do you plan to stay active in 2022?  
  2. A clip of you doing your favourite workout move (showing your face is optional)
  3. Name of friends/peers that you want to challenge to make this video
  4. Before posting your video on your story, make sure to tag the friends/peers you’re challenging, tag us using @utmhccwellness, and use the hashtag #MoveUNewU2022 in the story

Beginning first with a 30-minute #MoveUTM Consult, our trainers will help you Define your Goals, Optimize your Space and Explore our virtual programming to find the right fit for you while training from home.

3x30 Virtual Personal Training

After the consultation, you can register for 3x30 Personal Training sessions with a UTM Fitness Specialist. Sessions are designed to support you in achieving your fitness goals by developing at-home programs tailored specifically for YOU! Our team will coach you via Zoom through each of your exercises so you can perform them safely and effectively, helping you stay motivated and on track. Sessions may include a virtual assessment, movement screening, or additional personal consultations.

*Open to all UTM students registered in Fall 2021 Winter 2022 courses

Together Tuesday: Fitness Roulette Competition

It’s go time, UTM! Who said exercising can’t be fun? Well, we want to bring FUN back to Fitness. Join us to participate in this fun and unique Fitness Roulette Competition to explore your competitive side and workout at the same time. In a friendly + team setting, you will compete in a fun way with other students to complete easy, beginner-friendly sets of exercises, based on a random roulette draw.

Wear comfy clothes. Be prepared to move around. We encourage cameras to be on, interaction is key to making the most of this session!

Introductory Bhangra Tutorial


Bhangra is a collaboration of folk dances originating in various parts of Punjab, India. Bhangra started off as a celebratory gesture carried out by farmers after successful harvest season, but is now a dance enjoyed by many. With emphasis on joy and happiness, the ecstatic feeling while dancing is also a great way to improve and optimize fitness. This form of art requires no experience and welcomes anyone who is willing to bring along a smile! 

To best engage in the tutorial, At least arm’s length space from any objects/obstacles is required

Unfortunately, this contest is only open to UTM students at this time.

Can I participate in tri-campus classes or activities? 

Please refer to the List of Eligible Activities (above) to see which activities can count towards your MoveU NewU Passport. 

Can I complete more than one passport?

Yes, multiple entries are permissible.

Can I participate in the same drop-in class each week and use it for validation each time? 


Do I have to attend every event listed?

No, just 3 instances of activities!

Do I have to post a bonus entry video if I want to enter to win the prize(s)?

No, you can submit the bonus entry video only if you want your name entered twice in the prizes draw.
