I identify as a cisgender, white female. I was born and raised in a small town outside of Toronto on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee. I have spent most of my life living and working in Toronto but have also lived and worked in Japan and Scotland. I was the first in my family to attend University.

Experience/Expertise

As a Registered Psychotherapist, I aim to create a safe place for you to explore the challenges and strengths that got you to where you are. I believe that behaviour makes perfect sense and through counselling you can come to understand some shifts that will move you towards living a more meaningful life as you progress through your academic journey and beyond.

To support our work together I strive to implement an anti-oppressive, person-centered and trauma informed stance. I value understanding how your culture, race, ability, gender, and gender expression, impact who you are and what you are working towards. I also encourage thinking holistically and creatively about how your physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological wellness intersects with your environment and community.

Prior to starting at the HCC, I worked in different university offices and non-for-profit mental health settings. I have experience working with students who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, self-esteem, academic challenges, overwhelming emotions, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and anger.

I have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University and have completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness. I also have a BSc in Psychology and Religion from the University of Toronto and have completed a 200-hour Yoga teacher training program.

Things I Love

I love travelling to different countries and learning from those I meet along the way. In my spare I often find myself looking up a new restaurant to try out with friends or taking a yoga class. I enjoy watching big thunderstorms, drinking coffee and wearing cozy sweaters.
