Let's Talk UTM Week
Overview:
Join us from Jan 25 – 29, 2021 for Let's Talk UTM Week – UTM’s annual campus mental health event, in support of Bell Let's Talk Day!
Let’s Talk UTM Week aims to bring together students, staff, and faculty in an effort to promote open conversations around mental health. By sharing the stories and lived experiences of members of our community, we hope to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and mental health, and help make UTM a more open and inclusive campus environment.
This year, Let’s Talk UTM Week will be fully virtual, and will feature:
- Resiliency during COVID-19 Virtual Photo Exhibit
- Mental Health Resource Fair
- Peer-led activities and conversations
- and more!

Resiliency during COVID-19 Photo Exhibit:
This year, we are asking students, staff, faculty, and alumni how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted their mental health and wellbeing, and what coping strategies and resources they have found helpful during this challenging time. Stories will be featured on the HCC Wellness at UTM Instagram account @utmhccwellness.
To participate, email your responses to the following 3 questions, along with a photo of yourself, to Melanie Asselin (Team Lead, Mental Health, Wellness Ambassadors Program) melanie.asselin@mail.utoronto.ca by Jan 22, 2021 (Extended Deadline):
- How has the pandemic impacted your mental health and wellbeing?
- What coping strategies and resources have you found personally helpful doing the pandemic and would like to share with other students?
- What words of encouragement would you like to share with other students to help them get through these challenging times?
Following your submission, we will prepare your profile and contact you once it is ready. All profiles will need to receive final approval by the participant prior to posting on our social media.
