Treat your partner as a true collaborator:
Involve your partner fully in the project, throughout its entire lifecycle
Be consistent with your level of engagement; continue with frequent, consistent communication
Remain actively involved, even if your trainee handles the day-to-day of the project
Continue building upon the relationship:
Seek feedback from your partner, and remain curious in your questioning
Foster new relationships within the organization or group
Think beyond the project and your own research, so that the project is the start of a larger opportunity
