Why did you choose UTM? I chose UTM because of its proximity to home, allowing for an easier and familiar commute. I was also amazed by the amount of opportunities you could have at UTM or the tri-campus system as a whole, be it in research, employment, or more!
What are you involved in on campus?
- Programming and Events Assistant at the International Education Centre (IEC)
- Volunteer Note-taker at Accessibility Services.
- Conference Associate with the UTM Model United Nations – we are gearing up to host the 2027 UTMMUN Conference soon!
I am a pro on this UTM topic: Finding extracurricular opportunities and ways to improve your portfolio. Also, campus food! – I highly recommend the Blind Duck’s daily deal and Subway.
A course you succeeded at/most interesting course you’ve taken at UTM?: PSY100 (Introductory Psychology). I loved the variety of content covered, which answered questions ranging from why coffee can keep you awake for an all-nighter to ways you can persuade someone better.
What is your favourite event you’ve attended at UTM?: My favourite event I’ve attended would be International Education Week in November – global food tastings, movies, guest speakers and so much more!
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to prospective students about studying at UTM?: Broaden your horizons and be willing to try any new opportunities that come your way! Also go to office hours - your professors can give great advice.
What are your future aspirations after you graduate? I plan to pursue opportunities in the research or healthcare fields.
