Semaine de la Francophonie is a unique event during the week of March 13 – 17, as part of Francophone culture's worldwide celebration. Please join us in this celebration by attending our two free events!  

These events are co-organized by the Department of Language Studies and the student associations, ÉFUTM and LSAS.

Join UTM Professor Teresa Lobalsamo for a lecture on Italian immigration's influence on North American food and how food has shaped Italian cultural identity. The event is organized by the Experiential Education Unit and the Office of the Dean, in partnership with the Mississauga Library System.

On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at UTM MiST Theatre, Italian satirist Mario Pirovano will be performing Francis, the Holy Jester, a play by Nobel Prize-winning playwright Dario Fo. This is an opportunity not to be missed!

Film Screening of Tia and Piujuq 

October 25, 2019, from 9:30 am – 11:00 am in MN 3230 

Tia and Piujuq

The Department of Language Studies invites you to the screening of "Tia and Piujuq." The film is about Tia, a ten-year-old Syrian refugee living in Montreal, who finds a magical portal and travels to the Arctic, where she befriends an Inuk girl.
