Language Studies Academic Society (LSAS)

LSAS is a student-run academic society formed in 2011 on behalf of the Department of Language Studies at UTM.

Led by outstanding students, LSAS’ mandate is to enrich language learning at the University of Toronto Mississauga by providing students with an academic and social environment that fosters strong connections between the various programs of the Department.

LSAS aims to:

Provide opportunities for students to experience the international community at University of Toronto.
Connect 1st year students with their peers and faculty to enrich their academic experience.
Offer students the opportunity to explore career options by nurturing ties with the broader community.
Promote the Department of Language Studies.

Club Italia

Welcome to Club Italia, a vibrant community dedicated to celebrating and exploring Italian culture at the University of Toronto Mississauga! Whether you’re passionate about the Italian language, cuisine, history, or traditions, our club offers a dynamic space for students, faculty, and staff to connect and immerse themselves in all things Italian.

Join us for exciting events such as film screenings, cultural activities, and traditional celebrations that showcase Italy’s rich heritage. We also host workshops and seminars to enhance your knowledge of Italian culture and language.

UTM Computational Linguistics Society

The UTM Computational Linguistics Society strives to cultivate student interest and engagement in Computational Linguistics and promote a vibrant social atmosphere for those interested in the field! We also aim to mediate between students and the Departments of Linguistics and Computer Science, to support and represent the interests of those enrolled in the Certificate of Computational Linguistics, to aid the implementation of student projects and research in Computational Linguistics and to organize academic events to heighten student literacy in relevant research.

Les Étudiants Francophones de l’Université de Toronto - Mississauga (ÉFUTM)

ÉFUTM is a student-run club in association with the Department of Language Studies that represents all francophones and francophiles at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus! Les Étudiants Francophones de l’Université de Toronto - Mississauga (ÉFUTM) is a conversation and social club for students of all levels of French. The Teaching and Education Studies Association (TESA)

The Teaching and Education Studies Association (TESA) is a campus group dedicated to providing UTM students with information and events regarding post-graduate programs and careers, experiential opportunities, and various educational supports throughout UTM. TESA hosts events such as OISE student & professor panels, applying to teachers college workshops, and exam review sessions. Anyone interested in Education Studies and teaching is welcome to join and volunteer.
