The Business Minor empowers science students to go beyond the lab, equipping them with essential business knowledge that opens doors to leadership and innovation. By mastering these fundamentals, students gain a competitive edge that sets them apart—whether pursuing summer opportunities or launching their careers after graduation.
The Business Minor is a Type 3 Subject POSt program with limited enrollment—only 100 spaces available each year. Admission is highly competitive and primarily determined by applicants’ CGPA. The top 100 students in the applicant pool, ranked by CGPA, will be offered admission.
If you wish to be considered for the Business Minor, you must submit your request during the designated Subject POSt periods. Once admitted to the Minor in Business, Science, and Entrepreneurship, students are required to remain enrolled in a Science Specialist or Major Subject POSt. Failure to maintain this enrollment may result in removal from the program.
Entrance Requirements
Students applying for admission to the Business Minor will need to:
- Have completed 4.0 credits
- Have applied for, or be enrolled in a Science Specialist or Major Subject POSt.
- Completed ECO101H5 or ECO105Y1 which is mandatory for program entry. Students will not be able to enroll in IMI Business Minor courses unless they have been accepted into the minor program.
