| Connect and Unwind with with the EDIO and HCC | This session will be aimed at exploring the idea of community and connection within grad school, and how EDI and wellness are key themes in supporting these. We will explore what resources the EDIO has to offer and how EDI is wellness. Then we will look through a peer-support lens to recognize how grad students can support each other, what community looks like in academic spaces, and recognizing when someone might need help. The remainder of the session will then be used for students to relax, unwind, and connect as different activities will be provided for students to engage in, either together or individually. | Wednesday, March 25 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm | Spigel Hall, DV 1103 | Register |

| Imposter Syndrome Discussion | Do you ever question how you ended up in an academic environment? Have you ever felt that your achievements are just luck? You are not alone! Like many others, the self-doubt that you experience may be imposter syndrome. The term imposter syndrome was first coined in the 1970s by psychologists Suzanne Imes and Pauline Rose Clance, and they described it as a phenomenon that occurs amongst high achievers who are unable to internalize and accept their own personal success. In this workshop, we’ll explore imposter syndrome from an intersectional lens. Together, we will consider how this common phenomenon may be more prevalent amongst certain groups and identities. Race, socio-economic class, gender, sexuality, citizenship status are just a few examples of how systemic and social barriers related to identity can amplify imposter syndrome and get in the way of your success and confidence. Join us as we work to increase our self-awareness of imposter syndrome and its impact along with identifying strategies to overcome it! Lunch served. | Monday, September 22 12:00 - 1:00 pm | Innovation Complex, KN L1220 | |
