Title/Position
Assistant Director, Campus and Community Engagement

Alysha recently returned to the classroom as a doctoral student at OISE in the higher education program. As a self-proclaimed “forever student”, Alysha eagerly seeks out both formal and informal ways to develop her skills as a leader in Student Affairs and Services and welcomes the opportunity to critically understand the role higher education plays to support student learning. Over her 10+ year career, Alysha has worked across Canada, starting at the University of British Columbia at the Okanagan campus as a Residence Life Manager. She then returned to her alma mater, Wilfrid Laurier University, to work in both their residence life and education offices supporting first year leaders through their participation in experiential learning opportunities. Since 2015, Alysha has worked at UTM’s Centre for Student Engagement, currently as the Assistant Director, Campus and Community Engagement, she is passionate about collaboration with community organizations to explore the growth of community engaged learning in a way that is sustainable and supportive of the community’s needs while also supporting the centre's goal to support students as they explore ways to be involved as leaders, mentors and with student groups while developing skills in co-curricular opportunities. In her spare time, Alysha enjoys reading, travelling, playing softball and tiring out her Australian Shepard, Bartlet, with lots of walks, runs and hikes!
