The McEwan Mediated Communication Lab Presents at VRST
Professor Bree McEwan and undergraduate students from the McEwan Mediated Communication Lab presented at the ACM Symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) this month.
VRST is an international forum for knowledge mobilization between researchers and developers working with virtual and augmented reality software and hardware. This year's event was hosted in Canada at the Hyatt Place hotel in Montreal from November 12–14.
The McEwan Mediated Communication Lab researches how people experience social interaction within VR and utilize communication technologies more broadly. At VRST, McEwan's undergraduate students presented their work on emotions in VR environments. This work has been supported by the Research Opportunity Program and University of Toronto Excellence Awards for summer undergraduate students.
