Co-op Internship Program

Applications for UTM Co-op Internship Program (UTMCIP) 2026–27 are now closed.  
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by email with one of three possible outcomes during the week of August 4, 2026:   

✅Firm Admission
You have been accepted into UTMCIP. 
- August 10, 2026: Check ACORN for your invitation. 
- August 17, 2026: Accept your invitation in ACORN by this date to secure your spot.  

️⚠️Conditional Admission 
Your admission depends on meeting program and Subject POSt requirements. 
- September 14, 2026: Check ACORN for your invitation. 
- September 20, 2026: Accept your Subject POSt and UTMCIP invitations in ACORN by this date and confirm your interest by email. 

⏳ Waitlist  
You may be offered admission if space becomes available.  
- September 14–27, 2026: Monitor your U of T email for waitlist updates and respond promptly to any offer.

The UTM Co-op Internship Program (UTMCIP) is a professional work-integrated learning opportunity for University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) students enrolled in specific programs of study. 

When you participate in this program, you'll receive professional development and work readiness support before and during your work experience.

What departments participate in this program?


The UTMCIP is currently available in participating programs offered by the following academic units: 

  • Department of Biology
  • Department of Chemical & Physical Sciences
  • Department of Economics
  • Department of Mathematical & Computational Sciences
  • Department of Management
  • Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology
  • Institute of Forensic Science

 Key program features

  • Complete mandatory "work-readiness modules", followed by a 12 or 16-month paid work experience.
  • The time to degree completion is typically 5 years.
  • Graduate with an acknowledgement on your transcript.
