ROP Information Sessions

ROP Information Session and Panel Event for Faculty 

The Experiential Education Unit, Office of the Vice-Principal Academic and Dean, is pleased to offer Information Sessions on the Research Opportunity Program (ROP) for faculty members who wish to offer projects for the 2025-2026 season.  

We encourage faculty and staff to join us, virtually, on January 8, 2025, and virtually or in-person, on January 29, 2025, to learn more about the ROP and the resources available to support the Program. 

Topics during the Information Session will include: 

  • How to create an ROP course 
  • How to submit funding proposals (including items for eligibility) 
  • Course requirements (including prerequisites, contract information, ROP grade submission, etc.) 
  • Ethics & Safety  
  • Navigating the ROPAPP online system

NEW: ROP Faculty Panel
Join our hybrid Faculty Panel to explore the benefits of hosting an ROP project. Gain valuable insights from experienced faculty on fostering undergraduate student research.

In-person location: Council Chambers (DV3130) (Virtual meeting details will be provided to registrants who request this option prior to the Session)

ROP Information Session for Students

The Experiential Education Unit, Office of the Vice-Principal Academic and Dean, will be offering Information Sessions on the Research Opportunity Program (ROP) for all students. We encourage students to join us in-person for the presentation and discussion to learn more about the ROP. 

Topics during the information session will include: 

  • Benefits to students 
  • Student eligibility 
  • Course requirements (including prerequisites and contract information) 
  • Policies and guidelines 
  • Preparing an ROP application submission
