Awards & Scholarships

The University of Toronto has comprehensive scholarship programs that recognize the outstanding accomplishments at different levels of study. Below are the ICCIT Scholarships and Awards that recognize the impressive achievements of our undergraduate students. Awards are subject to availability each year.

ICCIT Director’s Leadership & Engagement Award

  • This scholarship recognizes an undergraduate UTM student who is registered in ICCIT and has demonstrated significant leadership on campus and/or who has initiated a project, event, group or program that enhances student experience. The student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and be enrolled full-time (minimum of 3.0 credits in the Fall-Winter session).
  • The estimated value of this award is $250 - $2,000 (this amount may be divided among multiple students).

ICCIT Student Technology Bursary

The Institute of Communication, Culture and Technology (ICCIT) is pleased to announce the ICCIT Student Technology Bursary. The bursary is intended to support full-time undergraduate students registered in ICCIT on the basis of financial need. Students will be identified as needing financial assistance to meet the minimum technical requirements to access and participate in academic learning.

In order to be considered for the bursary – you must complete the University of Toronto Undergraduate Grant application. When completing the application, please select UTM as your division and in the “Personal Statement” section of the application, please include that you are applying for the ICCIT Student Technology Bursary.

The bursary application will be open September 1st - November 1st.

Applications will be reviewed in November and award decisions will be communicated to applicants via email.

Randeep Grewal Memorial Scholarship

  • This scholarship recognizes a 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in the Digital Enterprise Management Specialist Program. Academic merit and evidence to demonstrate leadership attributes will be considered. Preference may be given to the student with demonstrated financial need.
  • The value of this award varies. 
  • A maximum of one recipient will be selected.
  • Deadline to apply for 2022-23 Fall/Winter: February 2023. Monitor your UToronto email account for details on how to apply.

CCIT Field Course Award (nominated by ICCIT Administration)

  • Awarded to one or more students who are registered in a CCIT program and enrolled in an internship/experiential learning course. Academic merit and financial need will be considered.
  • The value of this award varies (this amount may be divided among multiple students).

Maryann Wells Memorial Scholarship (nominated by ICCIT Administration)

  • Awarded to students with financial need. Students must be enrolled in a Professional Writing & Communication major or minor program. Preference will be given to students who have also enrolled in a program in the Humanities. Academic merit may be considered.
