Join as a Mentee
Consider becoming a mentee
Starting your journey in the ICCIT Student Mentorship Program is an exciting time. It is the start of your university life.
While the start of your university life can be very exciting, we also appreciate the fact that it can also be a bit overwhelming.
The ICCIT Student Mentorship Program is here to ensure that your transition into ICCIT goes smoothly.
Perhaps you want to expand your personal and professional network, or maybe you have questions about internships, course selection, your resume or the interview process.
This is why we are connecting you to some of our best upper year student mentors to grow with!
Commitment of a mentee
To encourage your commitment to this program, your participation will be added to your Co-Curricular Record (CCR).
As a mentee, you are expected to:
- Attend monthly group sessions organized by your mentor.
- These group sessions are designed to give you the opportunity to network with other students in your program and learn valuable information from workshop activities.
- Connect with your mentor for one-on-ones.
- Your mentor will be available for one-on-ones with you throughout the academic year. They can answer specific questions that you may have and help you integrate into the ICCIT community.
This is a great opportunity to develop a close relationship with your mentor.
The mentoring program runs throughout the Fall and Winter terms (i.e., September – April).
Typically, the program requires 1 monthly group session. One-on-one sessions with mentors are also available and encouraged.
Joining the ISMP as a mentee
If you are a newly admitted ICCIT second-year student, you will be automatically enrolled in the ISMP Quercus groups before the Fall term. Please be sure to check your utoronto email regularly! We are excited to welcome you to the ICCIT community!
