Jacob Gallagher-Ross and his co-author Miriam Felton-Dansky have won the Modern Drama Outstanding Article Award for their essay “Interface Theatre: Watching Ourselves Disappear” (Modern Drama 67.1 [March 2024]: 1-24) — an essay that also received an honourable mention for the Association for Theatre in Higher Education

The UTM English and Drama Student Society (UTM EDSS) is honoured to have received the Society of the Year Award for the 2024-2025 academic year. This award is awarded to the academic society that hosted engaging events aimed to support student growth and better student life.

This award is only awarded to one academic society out of the 17 and we are very proud and privileged to have received it this year!

Maryam says:

"Creative writing has been my quiet constant, a space to pause, reflect and breathe meaning into moments. While my biology major teaches me to understand the body, my biomedical communications minor helps me visualize it, writing invites me to feel what it means to live in one.
