Student Spotlight: Jasmine Jenkinson Winner of the E.A. Robinson Medal for Humanities

The Department of English & Drama is excited to recognize Jasmine Jenkinson as this year's E.A. Robinson Medal for Humanities.
Jasmine Jenkinson is graduating from the Theatre and Drama Studies specialist program, joint between UofT Mississauga and Sheridan College.
"My time at UTM over the past four years has been nothing short of magical. This degree has allowed me to train in acting and production, while also allowing me to enjoy the academic rigour of dramatic literature, theory, and history courses (my favourite being African American Theatre History with Dr. Ridley!). Thanks to the UTM English and Drama Department, I’ve met the most amazing friends and been guided by the most incredible mentors and professors. I’ve had the opportunity to research European Refugee Musicians with the Scholars-in-Residence program, study theatre practices on-site at the Shaw Festival, and write, direct, produce, and perform in my own plays and musicals. I’ve also had the privilege of serving as the Vice President and Artistic Director of the English and Drama Student Society, which allowed me to collaborate with other students and create opportunities for community and performance. I am incredibly honoured to be graduating from UTM not just as a National Scholar, but as the recipient of the E.A. Robinson Medal in Humanities, and I know this would not have been possible without the support of the English and Drama community."
