Professional Development

The Professional Development & Learning Centre (PDLC) is the answer to UTM Management's many career-related programs and activities. It is a space for students, employers, alumni and community partners who add value to our professional offerings. The PDLC is for collaboration and learning, with a leading focus on experimental development and overall student success.


As a Managment and Commerce student, you can receive information and assistance about career exploration, developing experiences and overall job search and careers, including:
  • Providing assistance in tailoring resumes and cover letters
  • Interview preparation, mock interviews
  • Being referred to appropriate career-related resources both on and off campus
  • Assistance with job/event readiness skills
  • Career development programs and events for students at all levels


We can help you recruit new talent through advertising posts, interviews and the MGT 480 internship course, and raise the awareness of your company during panel discussions, information sessions, class talks and company tours.


You were once in their shoes. Our students would love to hear from you and there are many ways to get involved:
  • Participate on an alumni panel to share your experience
  • Join a Coffee Chat on campus to meet and mentor current students
  • Hire a commerce or managment student and provide valuable work experience to a young professional
