Adam

Adam Chessell (fourth-year Accounting Specialist) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team and competitor since 2021. He is a co-chair for Ready, Set, Market! as well as a team assistant on the Social Innovation Project with the CSE. He has volunteered his time being an FSG Leader for ECO100 and as an Income-tax return and benefit volunteer filer with the CVITP and UTMSU. In his free time, Adam enjoys many activities such as camping, biking, and listening to music.

Hannah

Hannah Yamazaki (third-year Accounting Specialist & Economics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team as a mentee since 2021, and a director since 2022. She has experience working as an audit intern at WDM Chartered Professional Accountants in Vancouver, BC, and is working towards completing her undergraduate degree and attaining her CPA. Hannah enjoys helping other students achieve their academic goals and has been a TA for Economics courses at UTM. During her free time, Hannah enjoys playing piano, taking dance classes, and taking walks

Yonatan

Yonatan Ghebremedhin (fourth-year Management Specialist, Economics Major, and Political Science Minor) has been a member of the UTMM Competition (UTMMC) Team since 2020, and a director since 2022. He has experience working as a business and sales associate with AEL General Trading Inc. Currently, he is working as a Basketball Operations Intern at Between The Lines Sports and a Student Assistant at UTM’s Finance Learning Centre as he works to complete his undergraduate degree. During his free time, Yonatan enjoys playing basketball with friends, keeping up with the NBA, and spending time with his family.

Aliyan

Aliyan Amjad (fourth-year Accounting Specialist and Economics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team as a Competitor since 2022. He is also a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Economics and Management courses. In the summer of 2022 he worked as a Finance and Accounting Intern at Schneider Electric where he implemented new processes to reduce entity’s risk related to over- and under-recognition of revenue. As an aspiring CPA, he is open to opportunities to challenge and develop himself. In his free time, Aliyan enjoys many activities such as keeping up with news, playing basketball, and watching Netflix.

Bharathi

Bharathi Srinivasan (fourth-year Accounting Specialist and Economics Major) has been a member and competitor of the UTMM Competition Team since 2021. At UTMMC, she has competed in and placed in many case competitions. As a member of DECA UTM, she placed in the top 5 at DECA U Canada. In the summer, Bharathi interned at RBC as a financial analyst intern and applied her investigative and analytical skills. In her free time, Bharathi enjoys reading, sewing, and exploring new places and foods.

Chloe

Chloe Yang (third-year Accounting Specialist & Economics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team as a competitor since 2022. She is a Research Assistant for the Department of Management as well as a past Tax-Clinic volunteer for the UTMSU and a FSG leader. She has recently interned at Grant Thornton LLP as an Audit & Assurance Intern where she received extensive experience in understanding the client's entity, conducting substantive analytical procedures to identify any inherent risks or risks of material misstatement and formulating an opinion thereafter. She is also working towards attaining her CPA designation in the future. In her free time, Chloe enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Eisha Memon

Eisha Memon (third-year Finance Specialist) has been a member of the UTMMC and a competitor since 2022. She is also a Research Assistant for the Department of Management and a Student Assistant at the Li Koon Chun Finance Learning Centre. Eisha was a FSG leader, Vice President of Finance for the Diversity Business League and a junior analyst for UTM Capital Management. In her free time, she likes video editing and currently hosts a podcast.  

Hamza

Hamza Bin Waheed (fourth-year finance specialist) has been a part of UTMM Competition Team since 2021. He’s the Team Lead for Alternative Reading Week and Civic Engagement at the Centre for Student Engagement, as well as a teaching assistant for the Departments of Economics and Management. Hamza is currently preparing to appear for his CFA. He has also served as the President of the UTM Residence Council and volunteered at the UTMSU tax clinic. In his free time, Hamza enjoys the great outdoors, working out, photography and ice cream.

Illia

Illia Kazak (fourth-year student, Finance Specialist & Economics Major) has been a competitor of the UTMMC Team since 2021. He was actively involved in the executive team of the IMI Business Association and received multiple recognitions for his work. Illia enjoys taking the initiative to contribute to the community and always looks for new ways to grow. To become an expert in his field, Illia is perseveringly working towards attaining CFA designation. Currently, Illia is also VP of Finance at UTM Capital Management and actively works to make the club better. In his free time, Illia plays piano, travels, works out, and enjoys spending time with his friends. 

Manav Jailkhani (fourth-year, Marketing Specialist-Economics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team since 2021 as a mentee. In the summer of 2022, he interned with EY in one of their consulting lines. He has been the Team Lead of Student Groups at UTM in the year 2021-22 and is the current Co-President of the Undergraduate Economics Council. Previously, Manav has also served in executive positions at six student groups on campus along with interning in marketing, research and finance roles in organizations such as Reckitt Benckiser & Havas Media. He enjoys playing badminton, reading/researching about history and politics and enjoys tasting new cuisines.

Nara

Nara Lee (fourth-year Finance Specialist and Economics Major) is a member and competitor of the UTMM Competition Team since 2021. Nara is a teaching assistant for the Department of Economics and works as a Residence Education Facilitator for UTM's Student Housing and Residence Life. Nara has most recently interned at Cadillac Fairview in the Finance Transformation department, where she was responsible for the build and launch of a new knowledge and learning management portal for the Finance department. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, travelling, and reading books of various genres.

Nikki

Nikki Agrawal (third-year Commerce Specialist & Anthropology Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team as a mentee since 2021 and a competitor since 2022. She is the current VP Marketing of the Innovative Business Association at UTM and Research Assistant at both the UTM Department of Economics and the Rotman School of Management. In her free time, Nikki enjoys baking, learning, playing basketball, and spending time with her friends and family.

Nurzhan

Nurzhan Mussabekov (third-year Finance Specialist & Economics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team as a competitor since 2022. He has been an intern at the KPMG Transaction Services team, as well as a co-founder of an educational project aimed at decreasing socioeconomic inequality in higher education by assisting students from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). He has been Vice President of the UTM Residence Council and mentored two first-year students within the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship Program. Nurzhan enjoys playing soccer, working with youth through various mentorship programs, and kart racing.

Ochmaa

Ochmaa Ochirkhuu (fourth-year Finance Specialist and Economics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team as a competitor since 2022. Along with being part of the UTMMC Team, she serves as an Academic Associate for the Undergraduate Economics Council (UEC) and is also completing a study-abroad semester at the University College London in the UK. During the summer of 2022, Ochmaa completed a summer internship at RBC Capital Markets and gained on-hand experience. During her free time, she likes to explore different cities, try out new restaurants and have fun with her friends.

Tsz

Tsz Ki Natte Chan (second-year Finance Specialist, Economics Major, and Applied Statistics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team as a Competitor since 2022. He is currently the Vice President of Finance at the UTM Consulting Association and an Analyst on the UTM Capital Management fund. He has experience compiling and analysing financial information, as well as preparing and modifying various financial reports through his experience working as an accounting intern in Hong Kong. In his free time, Natte enjoys hiking, exploring, reading, and traveling.


Mentees

Abailoran

Abailoran Almukhametov (second-year Finance Specialist & Economics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team as a mentee since 2022. He has been a Facilitated Study Groups Leader for ECO101 during Fall 2021 and for ECO102  during Winter 2022. Abailoran finds equity valuation problems intellectually engaging, and sees himself as a business analyst in the future.

Arsalan

Arsalan Arshad (second-year Accounting Specialist & Economics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition as a mentee since 2022. He is currently an investment leader at UTM Capital Management and a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Management. Over the summer, Arsalan interned at Morningside Capital and gained experience in the commercial real estate investment space. In his free time, Arsalan enjoys working out, playing cricket, researching companies and keeping up with formula one races.

Davin

Davin Oseña (second-year Finance Specialist & Economics Major) has been a member of the UTMM Competition Team as a mentee since 2022. Davin is the Finance Associate of the UTM Filipino Student Association and a volunteer at a church in Downtown Hamilton. In his free time, Davin enjoys playing football, listening to music, and hanging out with his friends.

Noha

Noha Alrayyes (second-year Accounting Specialist) has been a part of UTMMC as a Mentee since 2022. She has experience as a sales associate and is currently looking for new ways to grow. In the future, Noha hopes to achieve her CPA designation. In her free time, Noha bakes, listens to music, and spends time with family and friends.
