About Us

Welcome to the International Mentorship in Academics and Canadian Culture (IMACC) Program at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). Our program is dedicated to assisting international students in navigating the challenges of university life in a new country. At IMACC, we prioritize the holistic development of our students, helping them build the skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary to actively engage in both their UTM and Canadian communities.

Participating in IMACC activities contributes to your Co-Curricular Record (CCR), showcasing your commitment to personal and academic growth beyond the classroom. IMACC offers a unique opportunity to build valuable skills while making lasting connections with peers.

Alice Chan is a Specialist student in Molecular Biology, and enjoys playing pickleball in her free time.

Eaint (Evelyn) Paing

Eaint (Evelyn) Paing is studying Technology, Coding and Society, and Geospatial Data Science. She enjoys sports, spending time outdoors, meeting new people through networking and conferences, and playing guitar.

Afeefa Muskan

Afeefa Muskan is studying Biology and Psychology. She enjoys travelling, painting, drawing, calligraphy, crocheting, and writing.

"I love the diverse and inclusive community at UTM. The campus environment fosters both academic and personal growth, and the collaborative opportunities with peers and professors are invaluable."

Viola Liu

Viola Liu studies Finance, Economics, and Global Leadership. In her free time, she enjoys photography, listening to music, and cooking and baking for her loved ones.

Elif Sude Yasar

Elif Sude Yasar is studying Computer Science and Statistics, and enjoys cats, ice skating, volleyball, and photography.

"I love how our campus is in the heart of nature, and fall here feels truly magical. The UTM community is always welcoming and diverse, so there’s a place for everyone to find a piece of themselves."

Dana Adhis

Dana Adhis is completing a PhD in Earth Sciences, and loves nature walks, stargazing, and photography.

"I love experiencing the vibrant trees and seasonal changes across the UTM campus."

Aleena Mahveesh

Aleena Mahveesh is pursuing a Double Major in Psychology and Biology. She enjoys painting, crocheting, and playing badminton.

Favourite thing about UTM?
"Something I love about UTM is the perfect balance between nature and community. The beautiful trails create a peaceful place to recharge. At the same time, the vibrant student community and numerous events ensure there’s always something exciting to get involved in. It truly feels like a place where you can grow both academically and personally."

 

Sarah Binte Sayeed

Sarah Binte Sayeed completed her undergraduate studies with a Major in Anthropology and Minors in Psychology and Forensic Science, and is now completing a Master’s in Anthropology. She enjoys painting and reading.

"My favourite thing about UTM is the campus. I love to walk around and see it change with the season."

Ruttab Noor

Ruttab Noor is pursuing a Double Major in Biology and French, and enjoys music, art, and biking.
