ICCIT Internships – a Look Back and a Look Forward

As we wrap up the Fall 2018 semester, the Institute is happy to report that CCT410 and WRI410 have just set a new record by having a total of 35 students successfully complete internships in exchange for course credit. The internship courses, which have been around since 2004, have been seeing consistent and exceptional growth in terms of both student enrollment as well as employer engagement. Looking ahead to January 2019, there are approximately 50 more students signed up for the next offering of these courses.
Expanding on the success of the unpaid internships, ICCIT is also introducing an opportunity for students to gain paid summer work experiences. These paid placements will be a part of the Professional Experience Certificate in Digital Media, Communications, and Technology. Students completing the Certificate will do so alongside their degree. Information sessions are in the process of being planned in ICCIT to provide students with more information about this option and the 2019-2020 academic calendar will further outline its requirements and eligibility criteria.
