Blithe Spirit
directed by Melee Hutton
Marriage. Ghosts. Noel Coward. When a seance goes horribly wrong, novelist Charles Condomine must cope with the ghost of his ex-wife terrorizing his second wife and threatening his new marriage. This revenge-filled comedy, fuelled by scheming and driven by a remorseless wit, remains as brilliantly and cuttingly hilarious now as it was in the 1940s.

Mrs. Givings is left lost and alone when her scientist husband invents a device for what 19th-century psychiatry thought of as "hysteria," yet denies her the very thing she craves. Add to the mix a newborn baby and a steady stream of beautiful "hysterical" clients, and the Givings' marriage threatens to crack wide open in Sarah Ruhl's 2009 feminist take on Victorian America.
