Julia Costanzo (She/her) left a career in health system advocacy to pursue a PhD in Media, Culture and Technology at the Faculty of Information. She also studies in the Collaborative Program in Addictions Studies at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

Research
Her research focuses on how personal media environments demand new approaches for harm reduction, support and treatment of people with mental disorders and addictions. She's currently examining the implication of technological sense and memory on disorder recovery because devices remember, index and recall past experiences differently than the human brain.
