Research Interests
I am an interdisciplinary feminist scholar working at the intersection of health geography and global health. My research employs a multimethod approach—combining qualitative, quantitative —guided by feminist and gender theories and the social determinants of health framework. I focus on health inequities in sub-Saharan Africa and North America. My work revolves around two main themes: (a) the political ecology of health and healthcare, and (b) the politics of everyday disease prevention work. Under Professor Kathi Wilson's supervision for the U of T Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellowship, I am currently investigating the effects of Long COVID on Black and racialized populations in three Ontario cities. This research prioritizes Black and racialized voices in Long COVID studies, helping to shed light on how race, social position, and health policy interact to influence health disparities in Canada.
