Carlo Chan is a postdoctoral fellow of the Centre for Urban Environments under the supervision of Dr. Matthew Adams. Carlo holds a PhD in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of Sheffield, U.K. His PhD was a comparative study on the age-friendly development in Manchester, U.K. and Hong Kong. Part of his research is centred around advocating for marginalized populations, including non-engaged youth, older adults, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, with a focus on mixed qualitative research methods. His other research interests include historical GIS, comparative study, collaborative planning, cultural geography, urban studies and social policy. He is currently working on community-engaged research on Type 2 Diabetes Prevention for young adults in Peel Region.
