Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences (CPS) at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) is home to graduate students in Biochemistry, Cell and Systems Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science and Physics.
All graduate programs are administered through the relevant graduate departments in collaboration with the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). Upon admission, students select a research supervisor, and the supervisor’s home department becomes the student’s home department. For example, if a student joins a faculty member whose laboratory is based at CPS, the student’s home department will be CPS.
Our graduate students are part of a dynamic tri-campus community with access to facilities, awards, and grant opportunities through both the graduate department at the St. George campus and their home department at CPS. In addition, students have access to the comprehensive services and resources offered by the School of Graduate Studies, including admissions support, study permit guidance, academic communication and professional development programming, as well as additional awards and funding opportunities beyond those available through the graduate department and CPS.
Below is an overview of the graduate support provided by CPS to enhance your experience at UTM.
