CPS Graduate Funding Programs
Beyond the range of teaching assistant (TA) and research assistant (RA) opportunities offered to all graduate students at CPS, we offer a variety of complementary support to enrich your graduate research experience at UTM.
The Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences (CPS) provides graduate students with up to $2,000 annually ($1,700 + $300 supplementary funding from research supervisors) to support travel to attend and present research results at academic conferences.
The Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences (CPS) provides PhD students with one-time funding of $1000 towards purchasing a personal computer.
The Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences (CPS) provides a fellowship of $2500 to develop pedagogical skills by working on original and innovative lectures, tutorials, or new laboratory exercises in undergraduate courses.
With research becoming increasingly international, interdisciplinary, and collaborative, the Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences (CPS) will provide funding of up to $5,000 ($2,500 from the department with matching funds of $2,500 from the student's faculty supervisor) to support research visits to other Canadian or international institutions.
The CPS Mentor Café program helps new graduate students (MSc and PhD) navigate life at UTM. New graduate students wishing to participate in the program will be matched with a current graduate student volunteer.
