Research & Innovation 360 Series

Wondering how to strengthen your next grant application? Seeking strategies or other resources to help identify and connect with potential collaborators and external partners from various sectors? Curious how to get your research noticed?  

The Research & Innovation 360 series will offer a full circle look at the various tools, resources, funding, and other support available to UTM faculty to help them pursue/realize their research and innovation goals. These in-person sessions are your chance to interact with like-minded individuals and others who can offer helpful insights. 

You can expect engaging conversation and practical insights presented in a relaxed environment designed to connect you with experts and colleagues over refreshments. 

What to Expect 

  • Practical insights from specialists across UTM, the University, and industry 
  • Stories and experiences from fellow UTM researchers and guest experts 
  • Opportunities to ask questions and share what’s worked for you (and what hasn’t)  
  • A relaxed, collaborative environment to connect with like-minded others

Who can help you find non-traditional sources of funding for your research? Who can help you understand how to commercialize your discoveries? Assist you in preparing a complex budget? Or turn your findings into a story people want to read? Meet the people behind the scenes at the UTM OVPRI. 

Join us on Wednesday, October 7 to meet the team at the Research and Innovation office. From research facilities and budget templates to editorial support for grant applications, internal seed and contingency funding, partnerships, and more, our staff is here to help at every stage of your research. Come with questions and enjoy some afternoon refreshments. 

This event is open to all UTM faculty and librarians. Please register in advance.

Building a Research Team in the Humanities and Social Sciences

This session is your ABCs of team building: the essentials of how to structure, recruit, and support a research team, from finding the right collaborators to setting up your group for long-term success. Research Partnerships in the Humanities and Social Sciences

Partnerships can open many doors, but they aren’t always straight forward in social sciences and humanities research. This session digs into what strong partnerships look like in these fields, how to find the right partners, and how to navigate the practical realities of collaborative work. Guest experts: TBD
