Aarushi

Computer Science and Statistics
Year 3
As a Computer Science and Statistics student, Aarushi also works as a CS Teaching Assistant and serves as a Vice President for the UTM Mathematical & Computational Sciences Society. She is also enrolled in the UTMCIP co-op program and has experience with tech-related research opportunities at UTM. She is especially passionate about data science and machine learning. Commerce and Communication, Culture, Information & Technology (CCIT)
Year 5
Abdirisaq has worked with the Career Centre throughout his undergrad studies, supporting students in their career development and exploration journeys. He brings a background in youth mentorship and educational program development with experience from internships, case competitions, community work, and campus involvement. He also works as a freelance key animator in the Japanese animation industry, with a passion for the creative industries, counseling, and animation. Year 3
As a member of the Erindale College Special Response Team, a research assistant, tutor, and volunteer with on campus and community organizations, Ana is working towards her goal of medical school. She is pursuing a Biology Specialist and a Business minor, hoping to learn more about the intersections of science and business. Year 3
Asra is a third-year law student at the University of Toronto, where she also completed her master’s degree after earning her undergraduate degree at UTM. She is passionate about mentorship and supporting students in their academic and professional growth. With experiences spanning academia and law, she enjoys guiding others through educational pathways and career exploration. Biology Specialist
Year 4
Joy transferred from Vanier College in Montreal, where she earned a Health Sciences diploma. In summer 2025, she gained hands-on experience in cell culture, immunostaining, confocal imaging, and data analysis, while also developing skills in scientific communication, experimental planning, and critical thinking. She is the Founder and President of The Mural Dream, a campus initiative fostering community through art, and VP of Welfare Avenue Toronto, supporting unhoused individuals with meals and clothing. A CRLA-certified tutor with four years’ experience, Joy mentors in English, Biology, and Calculus. Talk to her about research, volunteering, and life sciences pathways!

BComm Finance Specialist & Economics Major
Year 4
Nathan is the current VP Finance of UTMFA and an Outreach director at 180 Degrees Consulting UofT. Throughout his time at UTM, Nathan has had experiences with internships in audit, ESG risk, research opportunities, and many campus groups. Nour

Biotechnology Specialist, Chemistry Minor
Year 4
Nour also works with UTM Residence as a Residence Services Assistant. He has been involved in several research labs within the Biology department, as well as a drug discovery project based in Singapore. He is also interested in how business influences the progress of scientific research. Talk to Nour about careers in Biology beyond medicine, international research opportunities, and life as an international student living in residence!
