The UTM Project Management Office has some exciting news to share! This March, the PMO is expanding its service offerings with the launch of a brand-new Foundations of Process Mapping Workshop—a hands-on learning experience designed to help teams work smarter, together.

Open to all staff, faculty, and librarians, this practical workshop introduces participants to the powerful (and surprisingly simple) practice of process mapping. From start to finish, process mapping visually captures how work gets done—clarifying steps, roles, and decision points along the way.

So, what makes process mapping such a game changer? By laying out a process visually, teams can build shared understanding, uncover inefficiencies or pain points, and spot new opportunities to streamline workflows and improve collaboration. It’s an effective way to demystify complex processes and spark meaningful conversations about how work can evolve.

During the workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of process mapping and how to apply them directly to their own work. No prior experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to explore new ways of working.

This new offering reflects the PMO’s ongoing commitment to supporting effective, efficient, and collaborative practices across the university—and it’s just the beginning.
