August 26, 2025
On August 19, 2025, the University of Toronto Mississauga’s Project Management Office Community of Practice hosted Productivity in the Age of AI, a Learning Series event focused on how artificial intelligence is transforming the workplace. UTM staff gathered to explore practical applications of AI tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini. The session featured live demonstrations and prompting exercises that showed how AI can enhance writing, streamline workflows, and support decision-making.
Facilitators emphasized responsible AI use, encouraging participants to consider ethical implications and human-AI collaboration. Attendees learned how project managers can leverage AI to improve team productivity and reduce inefficiencies. The event also highlighted how AI can support strategic planning and service excellence across departments.
Participants were introduced to the PMO’s broader suite of resources, including Lean Six Sigma training, project templates, and consultative support. The Community of Practice continues to host monthly Coffee Chats and seasonal workshops to foster learning and connection. Recordings and materials from the session will be available on the PMO Teams channel. Staff are encouraged to stay engaged and explore future sessions that bridge technology, leadership, and continuous improvement.
