Focus in Business Data Analytics

In a world shaped by data, insight is power. The Focus in Business Data Analytics empowers Commerce students to move beyond the numbers—to think critically, act strategically, and lead with evidence. Designed for students who want to sharpen their competitive edge, this interdisciplinary Focus builds advanced data analytics capabilities that complement and extend core Commerce and Management program learning.

Blending economics, statistics, and business, students develop the skills to analyze complex datasets, uncover meaningful insights, and communicate them with clarity and impact. With hands-on exposure to the tools and analytical thinking driving today’s organizations, graduates are equipped to make confident, data-informed decisions in a rapidly evolving global economy.

The Focus in Business Data Analytics is open to students currently enrolled in the Commerce, Accounting, Finance, and Marketing Specialist programs, and offers formal recognition of data analytics expertise on the academic transcript—signaling readiness to lead in a data-driven future.

Completion Requirements:


The Focus in Business Data Analytics requires 3.0 credits, including 1.5 core credits, and at least 1.0 credit at the 300+ level.
