Research Profile:

What is love? Why do we feel happy/relaxed/excited when we see our beloved ones? How can something as simple as a special scent make our heart beat faster? And what is happening when the heart beats faster? The answers to all these questions have one thing in common: G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs). GPCRs are a large family of membrane proteins that are in charge of a variety of signaling processes inside our bodies. My research focuses on the structure and transportation of M2 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor on the cellular membrane. Come to the Gradinaru Lab to learn more about my research!
