Bio

Irune graduated from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education with a BA in International Relations and from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with a Graduate Diploma in Social Development. She has professional experience in the Mexican Federal Government having worked at the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC) and the National Institute for Social Economy (INAES). At at the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change she contributed with key research on how environmental public policy is defined and financed, with special contribution on the National Strategy on Green Growth. At the National Institute for Social Economy, she collaborated with the creation of public and private partnerships (PPP) and experienced fist-handedly the advantages on these types of joint ventures in social issues.

Fluent in Spanish, English, and French, Irune believes in change through innovation and openness. She is a multidisciplinary learner that loves connecting ideas to improve her understanding of things. Her experience, combined with a strong will and a social-driven character fuels her spirit for future goals. She is currently studying her Master of Science at the University of Toronto in Sustainability Management looking to be a leader in sustainability and make a decisive change while working with outstanding individuals.
