Dr. Kathleen Ma is the Veterinary Director at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). Kathleen joined UTM from the University Health Network, where she provided veterinary support across multiple research facilities. She holds a DVM from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (University of Saskatchewan), a BSc in Applied Animal Biology from the University of British Columbia, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Tri-Institutional Training Program in Laboratory Animal Medicine & Science in New York City, where she received advanced training in research animal care and program oversight. Through her work, Kathleen has developed strong expertise in clinical care, research support, and animal care oversight within complex and diverse research environments. Her professional interests include teaching and training, animal welfare, and transparency in animal research.
