SPECIALIST IN MATHEMATICS

The Mathematical Sciences Specialist program at the University of Toronto Mississauga provides students with a solid foundation in the fundamental theoretical aspects of the mathematical sciences along with a broad range of techniques for applying this theory.


MAJOR AND MINOR IN MATHEMATICS

The Major and Minor Programs in Mathematical Sciences consist largely of mathematics courses, and may be combined with programs in other subjects.


SUBJECT POSt (Program) ENROLMENT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The Mathematical Sciences Minor is a Type 1 or "open enrolment" program with no entry requirements. The Mathematical Sciences Specialist and Major are both Type 2 programs. For more information on program types, see the Program Selection Guide on the Office of the Registrar website.

The Academic Calendar lists the entry requirements for the Mathematical Sciences Specialist and Major, except for the CGPA. For the 1st round of Subject POSt enrolment in 2025, the required minimum CGPA for the Mathematical Sciences Specialist, Mathematics Major and Applied Mathematics major is 2.50. Note that if a student is accepted during the 1st or 2nd round of Subject POSt enrolment in 2025, they must follow the 2025 - 2026 Academic Calendar for program requirements.

For 2025: CGPA cutoff for Round 2 is 2.50.
