The Department of Economics at the University of Toronto Mississauga is a top economics department, home to approximately 25 full-time faculty, including award-winning researchers and educators. The research and teaching of our faculty span a wide range of fields and cover microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics.
Economics is one of the most popular disciplines at UTM. We offer several program options, including Specialist, Major and Minor programs in Economics, a Specialist program in Financial Economics, as well as interdisciplinary programs such as International Affairs, and Economics & Political Science. The Economics curriculum at UTM provides foundational courses in the first two years, leading to a wide variety of electives and advanced courses in the upper years. Undergraduate students in Economics can select the program and courses that best fit with their academic and career goals. Graduates of these programs have gone on to become leading economists working in the public and private sectors.
