UTM's Jiaying Gu wins Polayni Prize in Economic Science

U of T Mississauga’s Jiaying Gu has been awarded the 2018 Polanyi Prize in Economic Science. The assistant professor of economics who specializes in applied econometrics was recognized for her development of new statistical methods to measure differences in individual behaviour, such as teacher performance and consumer decision-making.

Our very own Associate Professor of Economics Lee Bailey was featured on the UTM website for his board game learning technique, which was designed to help students in his summer ECO100Y course better understand macroeconomics. NEW ECO101H1 and ECO102H1 COURSES

Starting in the May-August 2017 summer semester, the Department of Economics St George, will split the full year 1.0 FCE course ECO100Y1 – Introduction to Economics into two half year 0.5 FCE courses: ECO101H1 – Principles of Microeconomics and ECO102H1 – Principles of Macroeconomics.
