Ian Bromley has broad experience as an economic development leader in Canadian local (single tier and regional), and provincial governments. He has led urban and regional economic development organizations in Sheffield, UK, and Brisbane, Australia. He has been a consultant and advisor to cities in Canada, theUS, Brazil, Europe, Japan, China, and New Zealand.

In his career Ian has managed all aspects of economic development including strategic planning, innovation, marketing, inward investment, real estate development, workforce development, tourism, and entrepreneurship.

Ian has served on many boards including the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance, Toronto Regional Research Alliance, The Ottawa Partnership, Toronto Financial Services Alliance and the Sheffield City Development Company.

Ian is a Past Chair of the Board of the International Economic Development Council, and was its first non-US Chair. He is a Fellow Member and an Honorary Life Member of IEDC.

Ian holds Honours BA and MBA degrees from the Ivey Business School at Western University and a MA (Economics) from the University of Toronto.
