Dr. Damian Dupuy is a former Ontario public servant having served over 20 years in a number of ministries at a senior level. The bulk of his work while a public servant was in policy and planning particularly in the areas of regional economic development, urban and regional innovation systems, and urban and regional growth management.
Prior to joining the Ontario public service, he was a Senior Consultant with a UK-based economic development consultancy where he led the creation of economic development and innovation strategies at the local and regional levels in Canada, and internationally including, the United States, and across the European Union.
Damian is a lecturer at the Institute for Management and Innovation, Department of Geography, and the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto where he teaches courses on technology and innovation policy, urbanization, and economic development planning.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography from the National University of Ireland (University College Dublin), and a Masters degree and PhD in Urban and Economic Geography from the University of Toronto.
An avid runner, Damian is currently Vice-Chair of the Ontario Masters Council of Athletics Ontario, the governing body for track and field athletics in Ontario.
