Postdoctoral Positions

We are excited to share an upcoming 12-month Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunity in the Department of Historical Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga and to invite applications from doctoral candidates who are nearing completion of their PhD.
 
These two fellowships are open to outstanding candidates who will have successfully defended their PhD by September 1, 2026. These positions offer an excellent opportunity to pursue independent and collaborative research within a dynamic academic environment, with access to strong mentorship, research resources, and professional development support.

  • Position: Two 12-month full-time Postdoctoral Fellows
  • Department: Historical Studies, University of Toronto Mississauga
  • Eligibility: Current University of Toronto PhD students who are in or below Year 7 of their program, who will defend by September 1, 2026 and who are enrolled in the following graduate programs:
    • History
    • Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations
    • Religion
    • Women and Gender Studies
  • Application deadline: April 27, 2026
  • Fellowship start date: September 1, 2026
