Classes Without Quizzes: Tick-tocking to the beat of your health

Close up of clock hand with text overlay "SOLD OUT"

Tuesday, March 10, 2015
7:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.
University of Toronto Mississauga
Deerfield Hall Cafe

Clocks exist everywhere in our bodies—including the brain, heart and liver—to help us keep track of time and to control our daily bodily functions. These “biological clocks” explain the urge to take an afternoon nap or why our blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day. Clocks that tick properly are essential to good health.  Our "tick-tock" is affected by daylight saving time or "spring forward and fall back."

A malfunctioning clock is increasingly associated with human diseases and disorders, including cancer, heart disease, bipolar disorder and others. At this Classes Without Quizzes, assistant professor, Mary Cheng, will teach us about our biological clocks as they relate to human health and disease.  Complimentary wine and cheese will be served.

This event is sold out.
