Backpack to Briefcase: Embracing the journey

Eugenia Duodu

Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019
Noon – 1 p.m.

MiST Theatre, Room 0150, Communication, Culture and Technology Building
University of Toronto Mississauga (MAP)

Eugenia Duodu (HBSc 2010, PhD 2015) knows how difficult it can be to pick the "right path". With so many options, obstacles and opinions, making career choices can be confusing and, at times, discouraging.

At this Backpack to Briefcase, learn how to embrace the journey from student to career as Duodu talks about her interesting path through an education and career in science, including dealing with impostor syndrome and breaking through stereotypes. Duodu will share practical tips on how she navigated through science courses in undergrad, finished a PhD in chemistry and is now a CEO of a charitable organization that inspires underprivileged youth to achieve their dreams through science.

Eugenia Duodu is an award-winning chemist and chief executive officer for the Visions of Science Network for Learning. She has been featured in Flare, the Toronto Star, CBC and TEDx, and received numerous awards, including the Harry Jerome CIBC Academics Award in recognition of academic excellence in the African-Canadian community.

Registration is closed.

Complimentary refreshments will be served.
