Centre for Student Engagement
Accepting applications for Fall 2026
The Centre for Student Engagement is committed to facilitating student learning and development inside and outside of the classroom, on campus and in the local community. Through our programs, services, and resources, we provide opportunities that empower students to shape their own experience and contribute to their community.
Role: Student Leader Hiring Intern
Term: Fall - September to December 2026 (Hybrid)
Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 29, 2026
Description: The Student Hiring Intern supports student staff hiring process by coordinating recruitment logistics, editing communication materials, managing application systems, and assisting with interview events. They contribute to the development of hiring tools, timelines, and evaluation rubrics, while also facilitating candidate communications and data tracking throughout the hiring cycle.
Role: Student Leader Development Intern
Term: Winter - January to April 2027 (Hybrid)

Description: The Student Leader Development Intern supports the latter stages of the hiring process and preparation for student staff on-boarding by coordinating carousel logistics, supporting administrative processes for candidate selection and assisting with communication follow-ups. They contribute to the development of on-boarding materials, training schedules and program resources for May student staff training while also helping organize logistics and track participation to ensure a seamless on-boarding experience.
International Education Centre

Role: IEC Programs and Events Facilitator
Term: Fall Winter - September 2026 to April 2027 (Hybrid)
Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 29, 2026
Description: The International Education Centre requires support for the delivery of programs and services offered for intercultural student development and international student support. The intern will have the opportunity to co-develop, facilitate, and assess key programs. In addition, they will support the development of resources and other key programming initiatives that take place both on and off-campus.
Role: IEC Global Learning Intern
Term: Fall Winter - September 2026 to April 2027 (Hybrid)
Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 29, 2026
Description: The Global Learning Intern will support the development and implementation of global learning initiatives at UTM towards increasing student participation and awareness across the campus. The successful candidate will draw upon UTM's strategic goals, research and industry best practice to enhance the IEC's existing programming and student supports so that participants can receive maximum benefit and impact from their global learning experiences.
Role: IEC Student Staff Development Intern - Hiring and Training
Term: Fall Winter - September 2026 to April 2027 (Hybrid)
Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 29, 2026
Description: The Student Staff Development Intern will focus on creating resources for the IEC professional staff team to streamline student employee hiring and training. The intern will review practices to build department-wide hiring and training structures, resources and best practices. This role will ensure consistency in how student staff are trained, supported and advanced across the entire department.
