The terms "small" and "significant" are used to describe the impact of your proposal to the Institute of Forensic Sciences' Curriculum Committee.

Small course modifications: correcting typos, changes to description or name, clarifications, etc.

Significant course modifications: changes to contact time, prerequisites, enrolment controls, resource requirements, etc.

New course proposal: introduction of a new course.

Small program modifications: correcting typos, changes to description or name, etc.

Significant program modifications: changes that do not impact the program learning outcomes such as changing graduation requirements, changing courses from required to elective, altering POSt requirements, course additions or removals, etc.

---

Please submit an alphanumeric course code (i.e. FSC239Y5) or program code (i.e. ERSPE1338). If proposing a new course, submit a course code and course title. New courses cannot use codes that already exist or have not been retired.

Proposals for new courses must address the following points. Please copy and paste the points below into your response. Short responses (e.g. yes, no, fall, annually) are appropriate.

  • Instructor-faculty member name and rank (Must be at least one or more permanent faculty associated to ensure consistency or quality; this does not have to be the intended instructor. A reminder: instructors do not “own” a course, and may anticipate courses being taught by different faculty in certain circumstances).
  • Will the faculty member teach this course as part of their regular teaching load?
  • Will the course increase the unit's net course offerings?
  • Will the course be offered annually or on rotation?
  • What term(s) will this course be offered?
  • Will the course be a program requirement or elective? (If a requirement, does it affect learning outcomes? Is it a requirement option from a bucket of choices?)
  • What is the estimated enrolment?
  • What are the room and equipment requirements?
  • Will there be an international component?
  • Will this be a field course or involve field trips?
  • What are the library or technical resources?
  • Does the course require ancillary fees?
