NOTE:

To avoid confusion, the terms "small" and "significant" are used to describe the impact of your proposal as read by the forensic curriculum committee. The terms 'major' and 'minor' modification are reserved for science curriculum definitions.

Small course modifications: correcting typos; changes to description or name; clarifications; etc.

Significant course modifications: changes to contact time; prerequisites; enrolment controls; anything requiring resource implications; etc.

New course proposal: must be accompanied by a rational and resource implications form. New courses cannot use codes that already exist or have not been retired.

Small program modifications: correcting typos; changes to descriptions or names; anything that doesn’t change program learning outcomes; etc.

Significant program modifications: changing graduation requirements; changing courses from required to elective; altering POSt requirements; course additions or removals; etc.

Please submit alphanumeric course code (ie. FSC239Y5) or Program code (ie. ERSPE1338)

If proposing a new course, submit both suggested course code and course title here.

New course proposals must include the following considerations:

  • Instructor-faculty member name and rank (must be at least one or more permanent faculty associated, to ensure consistency or quality; this does not have to be the intended instructor. A reminder: instructors do not “own” a course, and may anticipate courses being taught by different faculty in certain circumstances).
  • Impact on teaching load
  • Increase to unit's net course offerings?
  • Offered annually or on rotation?
  • Proposed offering which term(s)?
  • Program requirement or elective (if a requirement, does it affect learning outcomes? Is it an requirement option from a bucket of choices?)
  • Estimated enrolment
  • Room and equipment requirements
  • International component?
  • Field course or field trips?
  • Library or technical resources
  • TA resources (also consider submitting the TA rationale form)
  • Ancillary fees?
List the units and/or people involved in this proposal, and a date of consultation, if possible.
