Established by UTM's Office of the Vice-Principal, Research & Innovation (OVPRI), the Summer Undergraduate Research Fair (SURF) celebrates the research conducted by undergraduate students over the summer.

OTTAWA, ON – The Canadian Mathematical Society is pleased to announce Dr. Duncan Dauvergne and Dr. Bálint Virág (University of Toronto) as the recipients of the 2024 Cathleen Synge Morawetz Prize.
Student Affairs & Services is excited to invite interested students to participate in LivingWorks SafeTALK, an in-person training free and open to all UTM students, that equips people to be alert to someone thinking of suicide and better able to connect them with further help. SafeTALK provides skills training for active listening and understanding, before learning how to refer someone to support. The second half of SafeTALK then moves into community myths about suicide that frequently prevent appropriate referrals.

Congratulations to Professor Jacopo DeSimoi, who was awarded the twelfth Brin Prize for his fundamental contributions to the study of Fermi acceleration, of marked length spectrum rigidity for integrable and dispersing billiards, and entropy rigidity for conservative Anosov flows in dimension 3.
