Overview
ISUP recognizes the importance of ensuring all members of UTM’s teaching and learning community have the opportunities, support, and tools to succeed. The ISUP Staff Award for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) acknowledges and celebrates efforts by staff to achieve this goal by promoting EDI in their work at ISUP.
This award will be presented to individuals who have either demonstrated leadership in promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion or developed innovative practices that remove barriers and build new opportunities for those who traditionally have been under-represented (e.g., visible/racialized minorities, members of Indigenous communities, disabled people, 2SLGBTQ+) on campus.
Examples of practices, events, policies, programs, or other activities that ISUP Staff may have led or helped develop may include the following:
- An initiative or program that embeds a commitment to the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion;
- An initiative or program that helps students, staff, or instructors from under-represented groups feel included;
- A tool or practice that provides support for an equity-seeking group;
- An initiative or action designed to revise or create procedures, policies, or practices to make them more inclusive;
