Workshop Descriptions
Your resume is more than just a list of jobs and courses. It's your chance to show employers what makes you able to do the most important parts of the job.
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Translate your education and experiences (paid and unpaid) into compelling bullet points
- Use keywords to get noticed by applicant tracking systems (ATS)
- Craft a resume that stands out from the crowd
All forensic science students are welcome. Students planning to complete the capstone requirement in the 2027-2028 academic year, are strongly encouraged to attend as a resume is a required component of the capstone application.
- Prepare effectively for an interview
- Recognize and respond to common interview question styles
- Structure strong answers using the S.T.A.R. method
- Develop thoughtful questions to ask your interviewers
The workshop will run from 10:00 to 11:00 am (including the mock interviews). This will be followed by an additional mock interview session from 11:00 - 12:00 pm for students who would like more practice.
All forensic science students are welcome. Students planning to apply to FSC481Y5 for their capstone experience are strongly encouraged to attend, as an interview with the Institute of Forensic Sciences' Placement Team is part of the application process.
