UTM has one of the most vibrant research programs for students anywhere in Canada, with world-class South Asia specialists whose expertise spans various regions and topics, giving students the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research in this field. UTM student researchers are already involved with projects related to the preservation, study and analysis of Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, Sindhi and Persian texts from South Asia. Other students are engaged in active learning research projects, conducting research with the South Asian diasporic community in Mississauga and gathering the oral histories of individuals within that community, while some are choosing to study abroad.
