Fast speed, high performance storage designed to be used at UTM for active, dailyuse data. Can be used as a share drive, in addition to directly interfacing with specialized data collection instruments.

Scalable Research Storage

Standard speed, typical enterprise level performance storage server designed for slower processing requirements, infrequent data access, and general backups.

Office365 OneDrive

Personal, cloud-based document management and file storage application, with sharing capabilities.

Bespoke or Self-Managed Storage

Storage solutions customized to your research needs, with varying levels of management and support from I&ITS.

Examples of these devices include USB storage drives and NAS boxes. Although self-managed, all of these devices are subject to standard UofT security policies. It is up to owner to ensure the device is secured, protected, updated and maintained.

Collaborative, web-based tool that can be used for administrative or academic departments, as well as researchers for their lab or project-related information, such as meeting minutes, project plans or knowledge base articles.

Office365 Sharepoint Online

Collaborative, cloud-based storage and document management tool, approved by the institution for up to level 3 data and eligible for UTORMFA protection.

Office365 Teams

Collaborative, cloud-based communication tool that integrates with Outlook calendar and allows users to scheduling meetings, hold video/voice calls and share files, in addition to supporting private and channel-based messaging.
